Last of Musical Inspired Melbourne Trip from last weekend – Of course it’s going to be about food!
From Nov 2014, I decided I must try the Hopetoun Tea Rooms which I missed out last time with the massive line up. This time I did a Cake away – Raspberry & Apple Crumble and Passionfruit Meringue tart pls! On the same day (Friday) I revisited now my absolute favourite macaroon shop @Le Belle Miete , Hardware Lane as well as KoKo Black.
Cold Summer Morning in Melbourne on Saturday, got my scarf, boot and coat on – ready to take my 1hr 30mins walk to Saint Kilda for Breakfast with Marta!
Have to say Lunar Park is pretty scary looking when it’s closed~~~
Had a delicious savory breakfast and hot coffee then off we went for dessert already
We had vanilla slice and Strawberry tart – all freshly baked everyday and throughout the day, Yummo
To burn off those calories I walked back to the City….then I ate crepes with homemade caramel …..
Rainy Sunday morning went to ST. ALI for Breakfast with Mich Ael! Coffee Recommend!
Last day of Melbourne went to Hardware Societe for breakfast and had their special of the day, Fresh mango, cocnut French toast and a cup of latte. Then, to Chapel Street for Burch and Purchese Melbourne Tennis inspired dessert.
Burch and Purchese Sweet Studio
Just chilling and enjoying the view before going back to Brisbane
Flew to Melbourne on the weekend for two musicals: Once and Strictly Ballroom. Both were spectacular and enjoyable to watch – highly recommend Once and Strictly Ballroom for anyone who loves romance, music and a bit of comedy.
Once is a Grammy, Tony and Academy award winning musical – an exhilarating ‘Guy meets Girl’ musical performed by an extraordinary cast of actor-musicians who sing, dance and play their hearts out on stage. Simple staging but brilliant. It is set in modern day Dublin, about a Guy who gave up on his music and his love and the Girl who inspired him to dream again. If you’re there early you could even go onto the stage and check it out! There’s also a movie as well @The Princess Theatre (http://oncemusical.com.au/)
Strictly Ballroom which some maybe familiar with the film about “championship ballroom dancer who defies all the rules to follow his heart.” It has won and been nominated for countless awards and now this new musical production is playing @ Her Majesty’s Theatre. The extravagant and glamorous costumes and staging, performance by talented dancers/singers – definitely worth seeing! Favourite scene would be them doing the Pasodoble.
“The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk” @NGV
Visited the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne last weekend to see Jean Paul Gaultier’s Exhibition.
Jean Paul Gaultier, fashion designer for French Haute Couture and Pret-a-Porter. He had designed costumes and haute couture dresses for Kylie Minogue, Madonna, Nicole Kidman and many more. The exhibition was spectacular – featuring more than 140 Gaultier’s unconventional, playful and superbly crafted garments (some takes over 200 working hours to complete) from 1971 to the present. In addition to photographs, sketches, stage costumes, excerpts from runway shows, film, television, concerts and dance performances. The exhibition is only available @ NGV until 8th Feb 2015- definitely worth going!! AMAZING!
